1 Saturday May 4

CHICAGO- Departure. Depart Chicago O’Hare airport.
Direct non-stop flight to Venice (9 hour flight).

2 Sunday May 5

WELCOME TO ITALY. Land in Venice in the morning. Collect your baggage then exit the
terminal where you’ll be met by your Active Italy tour manager. The group will then board a
private bus and be transported to the AQA Palace Hotel (or similar). If early check-in
available at the hotel then the group will check-in to rooms before lunch. Your Active Italy tour
manager will officially welcome you to Italy with an orientation session. You may use the rest
of the afternoon at your own leisure. – 2 NIGHT STAY

3 Monday May 6

VENICE. Arrive in Venice in the morning by private motor coach for a professionally guided
tour. Visit the most significant Venetian landmarks such as St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s
Basilica, and the Rialto bridge. You will follow hidden alleys and pass through typical
Venetian “campos” (squares), and your guide will explain the architecture and history.

4 Tuesday May 7

LAKE GARDA/MODENA. Today the group will be experience a true Italian treat: Lake
Garda. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and a popular vacation destination for Italians.
Spend the day at the jewel of Lake Garda: Sirmione, fills a peninsula that extends into Lake
Garda. Sirmione has lots of Italian charm with a history dating back to the Roman times. In
the late afternoon the group will head by private motor coach to the Emilia Romagna region.
Check-in to Hotel Arthur (or similar) – 2 NIGHT STAY

5 Wednesday  May 8

MODENA. Enjoy a special visit to the Maserati Factory. Maserati is one of the most
fascinating car production companies in Italy with a long history of appeal, tradition and
sporting success. It was founded in Bologna by Alfieri Maserati in 1914 and established as a
mechanical workshop named ‘Officine Alfieri Maserati’. In 1926 Maserati was transformed
from a workshop, modifying or developing the vehicles of other companies, into a company
designing, building and selling its own vehicles. In the afternoon the group will head to the
Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena (not to be confused with the factory in Maranello) delivers a
unique and enthralling museum experience that takes visitors back to the roots of the
world’s most famous marque. Topped by a striking yellow car bonnet-inspired roof that
stands out against the Modena skyline, the Museo not only tells the story of Ferrari’s
founding father but also showcases some of the most beautiful cars ever built. In the late
afternoon the group will visit the Ducati Museum. The Ducati Museum is a journey through
the legendary 90-year history of the motorcycle company, renowned across the world for its
style, performance and the search for perfection.

MODENA/CAMBIANO. Today the group will head by private motor coach to Cambiano,
near Torino, and check-in to the Cascina Speranza Hotel (or similar) – 2 NIGHT STAY

7 Friday May 10

CAMBIANO/TORINO. Board bus for the Pininfarina Headquarters near Torino. The group
will be able to tour the Pininfarina showroom and be treated to a special presentation from
Pininfarina staff. A meeting with Pininfarina CEO, Paolo Pininfarina will be arranged (if he
is at the headquarters that day). For lunch the group will head to a nearby restaurant.
Pininfarina staff will be invited to join. Visit to cultural sites around Torino afterwards.

8 Saturday May 11

BERGAMO ALTA. The group with check-out of hotel and head to Bergamo. Once in
Bergamo you will discover Bergamo Alta with a professional guide. From the imposing
Gombito Tower, walking along the medieval streets that have kept their charm intact, we will
reach Piazza Vecchia, living room and heart of the city framed by the ancient palaces, once
the city’s government offices, and the majestic Civic Tower, known as Campanone. The
Piazza Duomo then will welcome us, which is overlooked by the most important religious
buildings of Bergamo. Check-in to hotel, the Winter Garden Hotel. – 2 NIGHT STAY

9 Sunday May 12

BERGAMO/LAKE COMO. After breakfast the group will drive by private motor coach to
Lake Como. Lake Como is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Europe and the
well-known summer residence of George Clooney sometimes in the company of other
Hollywood celebrities. Lake Como is surrounded by stunning alpine scenery and beautiful
villages famed for their high-quality silk production. There will be plenty of free time to stroll
the beautiful streets of Como and other select lake-side locations.

10 Monday May 13

BERGAMO/MILAN/NAPLES. In the morning the group will head to the Milan Train Station
and board a high speed train to Naples. Travel time is about 4 hours. The air-conditioned
modern high-speed train reaches speeds of 300 km/h that combines high-speed and
maximum comfort. Enjoy the scenic ride that will take group through the heart of Italy. Once
in in Naples the group will be picked up by private motor coach and transported to Hotel
Casal Dell Angelo near Pompeii (or similar). – 2 NIGHT STAY

11 Tuesday May 14

AMALFI COAST. Enjoy the day on the famous Amalfi Coast. The group will drive by private
motor coach to the coast to experience a part of coastline along the southern edge of Italy’s
Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. It’s a popular holiday destination, with sheer
cliffs and a rugged shoreline dotted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages.
The coastal road between the port city of Salerno and clifftop Sorrento winds past grand
villas, terraced vineyards and cliffside lemon groves.

12 Wednesday May 15

POMPEII/ROME. Today the group will have a private guided tour of the ruins of Pompeii.
Pompeii was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples that was buried by the great
eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Since it was engulfed so quickly by a wall of volcanic
mud, the city is extremely well preserved. Pompeii still has most of its buildings, streets and
even the volcano’s victims who died instantly and are preserved in ash. In the late afternoon
the group will drive by private motor coach to Rome. Check-in to hotel Barcelo Aran
Mantegna. – 3 NIGHT STAY

13 Thursday May 16

ROME. Today’s half day walking tour reveals the city’s most beautiful monuments of Rome
with your professional guide. On this tour we show you all the iconic sights: start with a visit
to St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world; then visit Castel Sant’Angelo
originally constructed as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian, explore Piazza Navona, its
magnificent fountains and the many street performers; marvel at the Pantheon, originally a
Roman temple dedicated to all gods, then transformed into a Church which houses the
tomb of Italian Sovereigns and of Raphael, the great painter of the Renaissance; toss a coin
in the Trevi Fountain to assure your next visit to Rome; connect with the ancients swinging
by the Roman Forum, and visit the Colosseum. (The part of the tour can not be done today
will be continued the next day.) The Mille Miglia race will be arriving in Rome in the evening
and you will be able to see the cars as they arrive.

ROME. Continuation of tour with professional guide in the morning.
Rest of afternoon free at your own leisure.

15 Saturday May 18

ROME (FIUMICINO AIRPORT). Morning transfer by private bus to Fiumicino airport.
Direct non-stop return flight to Chicago in the morning. (10.5 Hour Flight)
